About Ryan McCourt
Ryan McCourt is a business development and account management professional with experience spanning UX research, user testing, market research, consumer behavior, and customer relationships. His career has focused on helping organizations understand the value of research and use insights from their customers and users to make better decisions about digital products and experiences.
Ryan spent approximately four years at Userlytics during an important period of the company’s growth. He joined the company after completing his studies in market research and consumer behavior and experienced Userlytics’ expansion from a small startup of around six employees to a team of approximately 70 people. His experience gave him a firsthand perspective on the development of a growing UX research technology company and the increasing role of user testing in product and business decisions. (ie edu)
During his time at Userlytics, Ryan held business development responsibilities and worked closely with UX researchers, product owners, marketing managers, designers, and other professionals interested in improving their digital products. Ryan’s perspective on UX research is strongly connected to understanding the “why” behind user behavior. He has discussed how user testing can complement analytics and other quantitative tools by showing organizations why users behave in particular ways, where they encounter obstacles, what they expect from an experience, and what they think about products, content, and digital interfaces. He has also spoken about the growing importance of user experience within organizations. Ryan has argued that as businesses increasingly recognize the relationship between UX, customer satisfaction, revenue, loyalty, and business performance, user research and usability testing become important tools for identifying problems that may otherwise remain hidden. His experience at Userlytics also gave him exposure to both moderated and unmoderated research approaches.
